Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion should be at the heart of all people interventions in the NHS. All organisations should be taking action to embed an inclusive approach to talent management, supporting their staff to appreciate difference and ensuring they are focused on attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce.
Standards have been introduced to ensure organisations are monitoring access to opportunities and taking positive action to eliminate discrimination or under representation. There is guidance on this website, and that of NHS Employers which organisations may find helpful to support their approach.
Because Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is relevant to all aspects of Talent Management, many of the resources in other sections of this toolkit have sections dedicated to improving diversity and inclusion. A range of resources dedicated to E, D and I are provided below and additionally we are in the process of developing further materials which will be added to this section in due course.
